    Hi all,

I am trying to add a disclosure statement to 2 specific categories (all posts within those categories) Using Lifestyle Child Theme.

    Site is located here: aconcordcarpenter.com

Trying to add to the "Product Reviews" and "Tool Reviews" categories.

Trying to add text box similar to an author box that I can style.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Many ways to do this:

    1. Custom field
    2. Custom widget
    3. Hook in using text using custom function

Same content for posts in each category?

Width of the content area or full width?

I would rather use a custom function.

    Same content for all.

    Content width.

    Thanks for the response!

Please copy this code from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor.

Which code snippet? I tested both and they worked on your theme.

Where did you copy the code from and where did you paste it?

Also, can you paste the error message here please.

I had the first one in and it worked, added second and it broke. I didn't have new FTP info as site was just moved, waiting to hear back from client now.

    You don't need both.

The first is for a widget and the second does the same thing but without the widget.

Please remove one of these 2 code snippets.

Ok, I am back to working on this. I have the code for the widget in there right now. I changed it to only show category '70' for testing, which is "Tool Reviews". It still isn't working.

The widget is there, I added a text widget to it and put my disclosure in it.

Are there other ways to do this?

    Hey Keith

What version of Genesis are you using?

Both code snippets work as i have tested them both locally.

Try this hook guide to change the hooks for HTML 5 enabled child themes if needed http://www.briangardner.com/code/genesis-html5-loop-hooks/

Try removing the apostrophes from the category i'd's
