Hey everyone,
First time poster on the forums here so let me know if this is not appropriate for this section of the forum, etc.I am an artist (http://www.scribbletonic.com) with a very small amount of technical and web skill.
It has occurred to me that it might be a good idea to mention my problem to the Genesis Community who, y'know, actually know how to write WordPress code and Plugin's, etc in case any of you want to lend a hand or offer your expertise to the effort.
Basically I, a total WordPress programming noob, want to make a Genesis Connect plugin!
Here's what's going on:Recently I was asked to help a friend set up their website using WordPress and the very robust and popular Webcomic plugin.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/webcomic/So I set everything up using WordPress, Genesis and the Metro Child theme, which so far I have been really impressed by. All good so far.
Then I installed and set up a few dummy web comic pages and realized that the 'Automatic Theme Integration' feature that Webcomics offers was not playing very nice with the Metro theme.
The Navigation above and below each Comic page were super tiny, not centered, etc. Not to mention quite a few more puzzling/extreme layout issues.It seems that because of the Genesis Frameworks' rather unique code structure the "easy version" was not going to be so easy.
On a positive note, the Webcomic Plugin developer has created a couple free Themes which contain all of the needed code and page Templates to display the Webcomic plugin's features correctly.

So I was wondering if it might be possible to integrate the Webcomic code/templates with Genesis similar to what others have done with the Genesis Connect plugins for other popular Plugins.

As best as I can tell, the Woocommerce plugin might be closest to what I am hoping for. (Though, for the most part this is a bit of a guess)
Using that as a basis, I (being the programming noob) have been wondering if I could cut and paste my way to a simple Genesis Connect version for the Webcomics plugin.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, I have only a small amount of technical skill.
Programming usually looks/sounds like a foreign language to me. The odds would not be in my favor.But I'm motivated. I really want to use this plugin! It is by far the best Webcomics manager/system I have found available!
I know it's not as much of a mainstream crowd problem-solver as the BuddyPress or WooCommerce plugins, but it would matter a lot to Web-Comic Creators!
Anyway, I hope someone else out there might consider helping me out. Otherwise I'll be forced to take it into my own hands and that probably won't be pretty!

I think that's an interesting idea and one that could be helpful to people who want to use the Webcomic plugin with Genesis. I would suggest reaching out to the creators of the other Connect plugins to see if they could quote a rate to create that kind of functionality.
Another option would be to add CSS rules for the comics to your stylesheet - it's not a universal fix, but it would fix the issue for your site at least. Do you have the plugin live on the site where we could see what's happening to the layout?
