    I was trying to create a custom landing page template for the education theme and ran into some issues so I ended up copying the landing page template from the Metro Child theme and everything worked out great except I still have a menu. I tried adding the following to remove it but it's still there:

    remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
    remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' );
    remove_action( 'genesis_before', 'genesis_do_subnav' );

    Also, I tried using CSS to change the width of the page to 900px wide and it removed the background and the content was wider than the content area. Here's the code I used:
    .education-landing #inner {
    margin: 20px auto;
    width: 900px;
    }

    I'd still like to keep it responsive but have everything fit in the 900px width content area while also keeping the site background.

    The second issue is regarding the home page blog post excerpts. For some reason, the title and content excerpts are showing up below the featured image instead of to the right of the featured image. Any way to fix that so the content is aligned to the right of the featured image?

    The site I'm referring to is found at http://www.christianbusinessacademy.com/business-coaching/ (for the landing page template) and http://www.christianbusinessacademy.com for the main site.

    Thanks for your help.

    1. There's several ways to remove the menu from your landing page.

    CSS (with page i.d, page template or custom body class)
    or
    PHP with conditional tags:

    .page-id-33 div.navigation-wrapper {
        display: none;
    }

    2. Are you referring to this title?:
