Hi,
This topic has been covered but the responses have yet to work correctly for me.
I've tried the following:
1) Commenting out lines 121-139 in functions.php
2) Adding display: none; to .site-tagline in the cssThese both work but they shift my site-container and site-header (on the homepage set to blog) so that the width's not a match with other pages/posts.
The site container ends up being 15px wider on the homepage than other pages/posts.
I can't seem to find a counter-adjustment to balance things out.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks =)
Hello everyone,
I use the Lifestyle Pro-Theme for my website handgepaeckguide.de.
I adjusted the function.php so that there is a full with header and a full
width footer. The area between the header and footer is divided into a
main content area and a sidebar.Now, I would like to create a page template where the area between the
header and the footer has no sidebar and consists only of a (full width-)main content
area.And I want to create a new CSS class to modify the width and other
attributes of this main content area, (specifically for this page
template).I understand, that I have to add a php-file to the Lifestyle Pro-Theme to
create the page template.But even after reading numerous blog posts, I was not able to figure out
what code this php-file exactly needs to contain to get the desired
result.I managed to create a page template without sidebar. But I failed to include the CSS-classes which allow me to adjust the width and other attributes of the main content area.
Can anyone help me out?
Thank you very much in advance!
Best regards from Germany,
André[Resolved]Topic: Daily Dish Pro – customized width of articles and centering
I continue to discover all possibilities one has with Studio Press Themes, and it is indeed amazing. After adding a few plugins and understanding how things work, it becomes actually easier than expected.
I have also started going into the code, despite my limited knowledge in that area. I have more or less managed to do what I wanted, except for one small thing.
Beside shorter pieces, the website I am working on has a number of rather long articles. In such cases, beside an attractive design, legibility really matters. And too wide a content is not comfortable for readers when going through a rather long article.
I have decided to use Garamond as a font for content. I have also tested reducing the width of the template to 1,000 px instead of 1,200 (obviously adjusting the size of the list of articles as well as of the sidebar in order to fit properly the reduced width).
Regarding the full articles themselves, they are found (after the visitor clicks "read more") on pages without the sidebar, in order to allow readers to focus on content. But even with a reduced width of 1,000, text is too wide for comfortable reading.
I have come to the idea that his could be solved by a wide margin on both sides. But if I reduce the width of content to 75 %, for instance, I can have the margin either on the right or on the left. I have not found a way to introduce the same margin or padding on both sides.
There must be a way to do it (only for full post pages, not for welcome page and list of articles). I was not able to discover where, either with Design Palette Pro or directly in the code.
Any suggestion (or other related advice) would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hello,
I need to a centered full-width widget to the homepage of the Minimum Pro Theme. I have added been able to successfully add a new widget to the homepage using some code I found on this forum - however it wasn't centered across the width of the site. I wasn't sure how to adjust this to span the entire width of the site.
I would like this widget to fall below the nav menu and above the 4 featured widgets on this homepage.
I will grab and share the code I tried earlier in a new comment.
Thanks for any insight you can provide. 🙂
PS I'd be thrilled to pay someone to do this and take care of the background image question I just posted a few moments ago. If interested, please let me know.
The website under development is http://PeterCruikshank.com/dev
My current Prose theme has semi-transparent Stretched Backgrounds (Genesis ClubPro) behind Content and Sidebars, however, the text runs right up to the left edge of the backgrounds (see website). I am hesitant to jump into the Style sheet and start playing with the padding settings when I don't even know which lines in the Style sheet to edit :0( I saw #content in there a few different times with padding lines.
On the Home page I also want to reduce the width of the Primary Sidebar a little and increase the width of the Secondary Sidebar. I only use the sidebar-content-sidebar on the Home page -- all other pages are content-sidebar and the size of the Primary Sidebar is fine on those pages. Maybe also reduce the Margins between the content and the sidebars.
Any guidance/suggestions for the two above problems would be greatly appreciated.
[Resolved]Topic: Sidebar in the wrong spot!
Hello there! I am trying to put a sidebar on the Home Page of this Enterprise site. When I adjust in "front-page.php" so that it did a content-sidebar layout rather than a full-width one, it allowed the Home-Top Widget area to remain at full-width and pushed the sidebar to the bottom of the page. Any ideas why? I want the sidebar to be at the top (beside the Home-Top Widget area/by the image...like a normal sidebar). THANKS!
I changed this:
//* Force full-width-content layout setting
//* add_filter( ‘genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout’, ‘__genesis_return_full_width_content’ );To this:
// Force content-sidebar layout setting
add_filter( ‘genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout’, ‘__genesis_return_content_sidebar’ );Topic: News Pro width on iPhone 6
On the iPhone 6 my News Pro theme content does not extend the full width of the Portait view? This seems to be the case on the home page and all underlying pages? I'd like for this to utilize the entire screen given the small screen. Is this by design for some reason or does it require some adjustment from the native style.css?
Any help is appreciated.
